How to Design Your Lean-to Metal Building

Our 3D Designer will give you the ability to choose your structure’s size, layout, colors, roofing type, and much more. You’ll even have the option to add side paneling, garage doors, walk-in doors, and anything else you need to create a steel building that works for you. However, if you want to get a quick idea of your metal building’s cost before you call, here’s a handy way to do it:

1. Designing Your Main Structure

   Use the 3D Designer to create the central section of your structure. This central structure is typically at least 3 feet taller than any lean-tos you plan to connect. Once you have your design completed, make sure to save it.

2. Design Your Lean-tos

   Essentially, a lean-to is just a carport split in half. So, if you’d like an accurate price on a 12’ lean-to attachment on one side, you can separately price out a 24’ carport and divide that cost by half.

   After saving your main building, re-open the building tool and start a new project. Select the right leg height for your lean-to so that the top of your structure will connect to the main building. Once complete, save this building design Except for a few connecting fees, the total price for both of your structures should be close to the design quote of your complete metal building.
